City leaders break ground on GO KC project in Waldo Neighborhood

Updated: Jul 20, 2018

The reconstruction of Wornall Road from 85th to 89th Streets include replacing pavement, curbs and gutters, streetlight upgrades, water lines and storm sewer improvements, and improved pedestrian access with sidewalks on both sides of the roadway. The project will be completed before spring 2019.

In April 2017, Kansas City voters approved $800 million in bonds to fund a capital improvements program for streets, sidewalks, flood control and other infrastructure needs over the next 20 years. These Wornall Road improvements are among the first GO KC projects approved by City Council in June 2017.

The City has a website dedicated to citywide GO KC improvements. For media inquiries, contact the Public Works Public Information Officer, Beth Breitenstein, at 816-513-2612.
