We're currently seeking volunteers to help with a Tower Park post-July 4th cleanup event.
Every year, on the 4th of July, despite it being illegal to shoot fireworks within the city limits, people find their way to Tower Park and use it as their launching grounds for large and small fireworks.
Many who do this leave after they've depleted their supply and don't bother picking up their trash.
But the Waldo Tower neighbors won't leave it that way because we enjoy the park and care about how it's treated.
That's why we'll be out at the park, bright and early (10am) on July 5th to lend a hand to KCMO Parks to get the carnage picked up.
FACT: This is a feel good event!! Please join us! The more people we get, the quicker the cleanup!
