Sep 19 - Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event
UPDATE: Greetings, neighbors.
We wanted to share some additional information regarding the City of Kansas City Sixth District hazardous waste drop-off event that we previously announced.
Like many residents, we waited in line to dispose of old paint cans, only to learn the event had reached capacity and no additional drop-offs were being accepted. While speaking with city staff overseeing drop-off, we shared the Sixth District flyer and event link that WTNA received on August 29 and subsequently posted verbatim on the WTNA website. The flyer clearly identified the event location and operating hours; however, the information distributed by the Sixth District did not accurately reflect the event's drop-off location, times, or capacity limitations.
Unfortunately, this situation was not something WTNA could have anticipated. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration experienced by neighbors who relied on the information that was provided.
On a positive note, we were redirected to the City's permanent household hazardous waste facility located at 4707 Deramus Avenue. The process was quick and efficient, and staff were able to accept the paint cans without issue.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we work to keep our community informed.
