In honor of Veteran’s Day, join UCHS board member Dan Stilley on Saturday, November 8, for a special tour showcasing Union Cemetery’s Civil War history. Contrary to popular belief owing to its name, Union Cemetery is not a military cemetery.

However, many Civil War veterans rest here, as well as other figures who were involved in the Civil War. Learn about the cemetery’s connection to the Civil War as Dan takes you on a tour spanning the battlefields of Virginia to the deadly Missouri-Kansas Border War.

Please note, this tour spans the terrain of the cemetery, much of it “off-road” from the main cemetery roads. Please be aware of your footing and wear comfortable shoes. It is not a strenuous walk, but not as flat as following the paved roads.

Tours are at 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM and cost $10 (a donation to UCHS). Purchase tickets at the link below or the day of by arriving a few minutes ahead of your preferred tour time.
